Home Rails
Most of the information here pertains to the Houston area. Why the Houston Hub? For one, I live here, and it is a great area to spot trains of Union Pacific, BNSF, Tex-Mex, the PTRA, and Amtrak. The many lines radiating from the Houston complex offer multiple places to view the great variety of trains that parade through. My favorite train watching locations are Rosenberg, Flatonia, Eureka, and Englewood Yard.

If you can't tell, I got tired of editing this site, I may do more to it if I get bored enough.
QHOWC-Train in Detail:
UP's QHOWC runs from Settegast Yard in Houston to West Colton, Ca. It is the former QEWWC that until recently originated at Englewood Yard. QHOWC departs Houston around 2am and hits the Glidden Sub westbound in the early morning. It is a priority manifest with lots of tank cars and covered hoppers. |
